About This Site

I'm going to Graceland.

Will you join me?

Years ago, this website was called Wasteland to Graceland.

That name still captures the journey I'm on.

Every day I'm learning, once again, to turn from the barren places of self-reliance, fear, and false stories toward the grace-filled life Christ invites us into. The Christian life isn't merely about knowing the right things—it's about learning to trust, notice, and experience God's faithful presence in the stories we're living.

That's why I write.

This blog has become a place where I gather the stories I'm carrying—the ordinary moments, unexpected joys, lingering griefs, quiet questions, and glimpses of redemption that often pass unnoticed. As I write, I ask: Where is God's grace here? What story has He been writing that I almost missed?

You'll find stories from our little farm, ministry life, motherhood, photography, old houses, horses, orchards, and everyday moments that have become windows into God's greater Story. Along the way, I'll also share what I'm learning about storywork and how becoming curious about our own stories can help us see God's grace with fresh eyes.

My hope isn't that you'll simply read my stories.

It's that you'll begin gathering your own.

Because every life tells a story, and every story finds its truest meaning within the greater story of God's redeeming love.

I'm so glad you're here.

"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland." — Isaiah 43:19

  1. Amy, I hope it ok that I shared this link with my family and friends on Facebook. I don't use facebook much but wanted to share your writings with my family and friends.

  2. I am so glad to have found your blog! "My life was once like a wasteland" as well. I came to Christ after living a life I am not proud of and as you said, on another page, a lot of damage had already been done. I was your neighbor on Titus 2sdays this morning and was coming over to read your linked post. I ended up spending quite some time here and am thankful I was led to you. I too felt called to write about my past and God's grace. After much arguing with Him, I recently said yes and started blogging. I will follow you and come back to visit often...

    • Thank you for stopping by here. I can see we have similar stories too... After years of toying with the idea of writing I too just took the leap a year ago. I'm following you now too so--it will be neat to see what God does with your blog! Blessings to you as you follow His leading...
